Liaveil 158 Posted August 26, 2016 So... Just finished Fairy Tail: Zero... Truly pulls at the heart strings. Was an incredible way to end the prequel. Now have to wait for the next season... Ouch. Time to watch something else until then.
Syn 2 Posted August 27, 2016 I just finished Haganai Next...for the second time. Didn't realize I had already seen this until episode 10 (of 12). Hoping they get a season 3 soon as the light novels are up to 11 I believe. Seems each season is based off of 4 light novels.Currently watching Bakemonogatari, three episodes in, fun so far :)
789ifyz 0 Posted August 27, 2016 I haven't had much time lately, but I've managed to get through Hetalia Axis Powers and a few episodes of Hetalia World Series, which isn't really all that much considering each episode is only 5 mins long. Also watched the first episode of Ore Monogatari. Like it so far, will probably continue. My sister wanted to rewatch Death Note, so I'll probably join her whenever she gets round to it, and we are watching Person of Interest as a family, though that isn't an animation. Ore Monogatari was hilarious. Seriously, one of my favorites in the past five years!

789ifyz 0 Posted September 3, 2016 So... I ended up binge-watching Ore Monogatari, finished it over 3 days, ignoring a bunch of things I was supposed to be doing with my time. Now I'm torn between getting on with that other stuff and binge-gaming and binge-watching as much as possible before my next year of Uni starts.Either way, I do intend to at least start another series. Any recommendations? Or maybe I should just take a random pick from my HUGE backlog...
Britpoint 4 Posted September 3, 2016 Glad you watched Ore Monogatari! Love that one. If you haven't seen Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, that's another high recommend from me. Beyond that I'd say work through that back log. God knows I need to xD

Guess it's time to get back to my backlog, then.

Syn 2 Posted September 10, 2016 Finished Bakemonogatari yesterday. Definitely a different anime experience than what I normally watch. Good story overall though a bit of a weak ending. Quite a bit of fan service throughout, with a few awkward moments on transit during my commute :# Not sure what I want to watch next. Would like something dubbed. I've been alternating between dubbed and subbed as I have to read a computer monitor all day so not having to read in the morning and afternoon would be nice. Would like something with some action, and not much fluff/filler.

Would like something with some action, and not much fluff/filler. I'm not sure if this makes me part of a minority, but I personally dislike 'fan-service' to the point where I've dropped some series because of it. I especially hate it when a series I really like switches its focus to that 'fan-service', especially when that shift in focus puts what I liked about the series in the background. If it's rare and/or 'mild', I can put up with it, but otherwise, I'll usually drop it early on. There are some exceptions, usually series that make me laugh or those that are really intriguing. Bakemonogatari somehow ended up under the latter category - the 'nature' of the 'fan-service' had me wanting to drop it, but for some reason I ended up watching (almost) all of it. 'Almost', because I skipped some bits and scrolled down on some others. And now, examples of stuff that was ruined for me due to 'fanservice':Pretty much every single 'beach fun time' episode (I skip them all)3 of the 'Big 5' shounen (Fairy Tail, One Piece, BLEACH [some other things ruined that too, including repetetive boredom]) (dropped)3rd season of Yuru Yuri (still watched it though)Welcome to the NHK (dropped, although it sounded interesting)OREIMO (dropped)...And this ended up being a half-rant on fanservice. Not my initial intention, but whatever... I'm just gonna leave for a bit.

I found it in an anime fights compilation and have ended up watching 2 of the series, though it had several elements that would usually cause me to drop it, but somehow I ended up getting hooked. Liaveil 158 Posted September 11, 2016 Oh you would love Asterisk War then :D More fan service than plot. Fan service aside, it's not too bad but nothing special. Going to finish it though since there's only 12 episodes left. Maybe the second half will be better. No idea what to start after, either Akame ga Kill or maybe I'll finish the rest of Sword Art.. only watched the first two plotlines dubbed and couldn't find the rest. Maybe I'll just rewatch from the beginning but subbed instead and go all the way. Not sure I could be bothered though! Didn't feel overly memorable watching it the first time. 789ifyz 0 Posted September 12, 2016 @SynGamer Monster's a pretty good series that's quite well dubbed. Plus it's based in Europe, so their name pronunciations are generally more accurate - not nearly as bad as pretty much any dubbing where the characters are Japanese. It's 74 episodes long, though: https://myanimelist.net/anime/19/Monster?q=monster I myself need to catch up on Ultimate Spiderman and re-watch Merlin with family. 789ifyz 0 Posted September 12, 2016 Do you reckon there's any chance of there being an Ore Monogatari sequel at some point in the future? According to MAL, it ended only half way through the Manga.
