Could you do the same one but with @meerkat80 's livery? I like the DiRT logo on the side so much.
Can you link me to the Livery ...

Thank you Ryumakkuro. My silly mistake, too many years have passed since I watched Stratos in the Yorkshire forests, UK, before the Quattro, Lancia and Peugeot changed the face of rallying.

Any chance you would be willing to render another rally classic. Lancia Stratos
http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/lancia-stratos-hf-1977-munari.7393/
Yes I will definately be rendering the stratos .. I fully intend on having a scene for every car in the game .Once the scenes have been created its then just a question of copying and pasting the livery ... positioning the car in a nice pose and hitting go ... Sounds simple but there is a fair bit of work with each car to export / filter unwanted parts / import to render application / assign textures and parameters .. then environment before hitting go. Some of these are dual pass renders too .. which means they have been rendered twice to gain an effect ... such as the shiney floor.

I have the 205  T16 Group B ready to import to max ... so that will be done this evening .. then possibly the stratos can come next ...

Thanks for the comments all .. keep em peeled ... more on the way ...

Anyone for a bit of Stratos ........ ???

BTW, not sure if you did this, but thanks for dirtying up the exhaust.  There are quite a few tail pipes that are way too shiny for a rally game.  Grid/Bling  - yes not here

I didn't do this , however it is very easy , the exhaust tip is on the main carbody texture , just need to find it and adjust it .. i'll look at this in the future

A sincere thank you border, love the rendering.
I have worked in computer graphics most of career, so I understand how much time and effort is required to do texture mapping, renderings and lighting.
The quality of the 3D modeling used in Dirt Rally appears to be very good, for a real time game.
Awesome thank you...

I don't know how do you do this, and how harder it is but, locks phenomenal. Every time i see one render, i feel strange, i don't know why, but i want to drive the car in one stage, may is because looks so pretty!!

I'm fan of your work, thanks for your dedication, may the guy who's manage the dirt rally social account (facebook, twitter) should ask you to put that amazing renders there...

I don't think he is texturing, the UV wrap should be pulled out alongside the car.

@JZStudios I was just trying to express my sincere thanks to Border for taking the time to setup the renderings and provide high quality images for everyone to enjoy...

When using Autostudio or Maya, with material shaders the general term "texture mapping" is used for any file based image or procedural texture to provide surface color, or diffuse or specular, or ambient, etc.

Thank you Border, no matter how you are providing surface detail to the Dirt Rally car models. Each render looks awesome...

No, I get it. I've been using blender for a few years. I was just saying that the texture and UV map should just pull right out so he should only really have to do the background and lighting. Don't get me wrong, I think it's cool. I personally would try and go for something other than straight colors, but I know that takes a lot of time. My profile pic is a 2000gt I made, and never got around to doing a proper light booth.

There actually is a purpose for me creating these render scene's , eventually once they are all complete and I am happy with them I will make them available for people to use to showcase the skins they have created. This is the reason for their simplicity , although thee 3d is very good the idea is to showcase the livery design. not the car [ so to speak ]

Whenever I have released skins for other titles it has been nice to present it in a nice way similar to this style I produce for Assetto Corsa ..

I take absolutely zero credit for anything other than the scene creation in studio max with the cars from dirt , I am just taking a render of each scene I create to First make sure all is good , and second to show you guys whats coming ...

@BORDER

I really like you ideas, these are a great way to show off the skins.  I asked about this before, but I have a better idea.

This link is to a 'seamless' dirt texture.  It was mentioned that to render a scene on top of a picture you would need to know the camera info for perspective etc, for it to look right.  Well, a long time ago I worked with 3dStudio v1.0 and remember setting up some scenes.  I sometimes would set up a flat 2d plain and put a texture on it so I could control the scenes perspective and DOF.  I think this is what you are already doing (?) to get your reflections.  Anyhow, not sure what you would want to do exactly for a sky or whatever maybe the angles you are using don't need a sky at all.

Anyway, I just had this idea.

I will make a render or two for you to show you what canbe done for sure , but for this purpose the scenes must be kept simplistic as stated for the purposes of showing of your skins .

Once the scenes have been created , its then time to play with them and create different settings .. i'll have a go at rendering a scene on a dirt setting at some point
