I hate to beg or and put you guys on the spot, but could someone render these for me?  With the lights, if possible?

I would really really like to get it for tomorrow, I know I am asking for a lot, last minute.

Can they be done with a alpha channel (transparent) background?

No lights (obviously)

I'll try to come up with something when I get home ;) I can't promise anything though because I have to fix my PC once again and possibly reinstall 3DS Max... But I'll do my best!
@Jepsertti

I know Im asking a lot, on short notice!  I appreciate what you can.  I do have an old old copy of 3ds max.  If you want to PM me how it's done, I can try it too.

I'm really sorry but I can't get my PC working today :/ And it's a bit difficult to help you because setting up a render scene like mine is quite complicated and it's likely not even possible with an older version of 3DS Max. Sorry to disappoint you :(

I could probably do it in blender, but I don't have the 3dsim whatever to get the models... wink wink...

Time to wake this thread again. Lately I've been working on a new render studio and I really like how it looks like.

EDIT:

Did a lighter version of it which I actually like more. I would like to know which one you guys prefer!

Didn't check all pages, but can someone do a 1920 x 1080 of Quattro S1 E2 and Impreza 22B? My favorite Rally cars of all time...

I'd go with the lighter version. Shows off a bit more detail. Or just put another lamp on the right side to brighten it up a bit more with the darker background.

Here's a render with a bit of editing done to the 3D model. Changes to the MK2 to achieve late 70's/early 80's look are:
- Smaller and wider tires
- Mudflaps
- Left-hand drive
- Mirrored wipers
- Removed roof scoop
- Removed the carbon fiber flaps from rear lights
- Changed mirror position to left-hand side

Now I only have to do new extra lights and I'll be pretty happy with the look of it. Hopefully we will have a correct David Sutton Motorsport MK2 in the next DiRT.

PS. The small amount of film grain is there to give it a bit of a nostalgic look ;)

Must not give in to the temptation, must not, must not... MUST. NOT.

Well... I gave in: http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/39555/the-confusing-car-name-thread-s1-e2-22b-wrc-etc

@Jepsertti Looking pretty nice. I'd still suggest a lamp on the right side, maybe even from the ground pointing up.
In any case, you also said you were going to make new lights which reminded me that sometime somewhere I downloaded some headlight textures with normals n such if your interested.

Thanks for the link, Ryu. Indeed an interesting read.

@Jepsertti the whole picture just needs to be bit lighter and maybe add an extra light source to illuminate the front, so you cen see the detail in the grill.

Brightened it up a bit in Photoshop but the front still looks too dark

And, to pick nits, the light setup is not correct. The spots and fogs were positioned differently.

Also needs a roof aerial but nice work. Lets pray for a proper works Group 4 Escort in DiRT Rally soon.

Yes, I'd really like that. Won't happen in DR, but maybe in DR2...if there ever is one.

Here's a remake of a remake of my render scene. I've spent the last almost two days by doing the lighting setup (mental ray + free lights). Before this I used to have zero actual lights in the scene, I just used mr physical sky as the environment map which then illuminated the scene. That doesn't fit a studio scene though ;)

Anyway, here's a quick preview render of how the scene looks like now. I have to find a way to fix the shadows and some materials of the car but after all I'm really happy with how it looks like so far!

Any chance of having these 2 cars done?

http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/audi-quattro-group-b-john-buffum.9644/

http://www.racedepartment.com/downl...ns-sno-drift-2013.8547/download?version=14445
(David Higgins)

With some sort of nature background, maybe background is B/W so car sticks out.  IDK, I wan't to get a poster made for my man cave. :)

PS I know I am asking for a lot and maybe too specific.

I'm able to do renders of both of those skins, but sadly if I used a HDRI background I would have to do an overhaul to my scene, because I'm currently using a studio lighting with spot lights. It would look wrong in a real life environment.

I can change the background color of my current scene to whatever you want though, if that's ok. :)

Ok, maybe a straight side view?  Black background?  Not sure what would look right.

Or

Or even this familiar classic

(Blue background off ground jump setup?)

not sure if you can do the background in alpha channel to photoshop whatever background later?  I dont know just ideas.

It would be kind of cool to have a series of different cars with a dark background with a low sideview like the old posters.  Or all the group B cars ligned up side by side with a 3/4 view.  OR all the cars that had martini liveries ligned up.

I could keep you and your computer busy for days :)

Those first two are definitely possible. Not so sure about the third one, because even though it's possible to do that with Photoshop, I don't like to do things the "easy but cheap" way ;)

I hope you're not in a hurry with those because I'm really busy this week (need to read for Matriculation Examination (hopefully that's the correct appellation of what I mean, haha)). I'll be able to do those next week though!
