F1 2015 PC Patch - 11/11/2015

Recommended Posts

Number of laps at Mexiko are the same as before patch!? In the track menu are 68 laps!
We're aware, thanks for letting us know  :)

Just one short question. Is the multiplayer mode working? I don't care about minor bugs but is the game in sync the whole time? What about crashes / discs?

So I just tried new patch. Did a race at Brazil (30min prac, full qualy & 50% race). 10mins into practice my frames drop to around half  (down to 35-40fps on medium settings, I generally get 55-70 depending on track). Also not using Intel CPU or had any previous frame-related troubles since launch.  Restarted game and no change. So into race and on the grid the tyre strategy was a 3 stop consisting of option-option-option-option, so yeah figured something isn't right. All cars started on options and did 3 stops without one car using primes until a 4th stop. Bottas goes option-option-option-used options-primes 1 lap later-option. End of the race most cars have done 4-7/8 stops.

After I tried a quick 50% race at Australia to see if it was a one off and everything was fine. Getting 70+ fps consistently through the race and all cars stuck to a realistic strategy other than having to pit an extra time for damage.

Just lost for words.  A month late and even now almost 6months down the line we're still beta testing this game.

Anyone else's game crashing when they try to do a race?
If the game crashes when you go from the menu screen  to loading a race.......this seems to be a graphics issue in the update.Go to the video settings and reduce the Particle Setting to Medium. Game will then be able to load track and race data. You can leave other video settings on high or ultra high. Only seems to be new particle setting at fault. Hope this helps.
Can anyone seeing these crashes send me their DXDiag for their PC please. Then we can try to get the same or similar hardware and try to reproduce the crash.
Have posted my Dxdiag report on link:
https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=3BB002222274654E!832&authkey=!AC3NAvOIPd_mGSc&ithint=file%2ctxt

Several users have reported this problem on the Steam community. Credit to the work around goes to Steam user [MLG]Frenzic

For Lozzy:

It's obvious. the game gives you warnings to cut corners but not penalized. I'm in a 2015 F1 championship and there are drivers who are over 30 ads to cut corners but no penalty for those cuts curve. So you can not take seriously. it's ridiculous.

I think Kvyat performance not being improved was a false flag on my side... I just done qualifying on US GP in Quick Race and Kvyat qualified 8th I think so that's okay

But in the first 3 qualifying runs (all in Quick Race, different tracks) I had done before he never got through Q1, maybe he had always traffic ahead lol

By the way, about Sports Update Part 2, I'd like to know if the devs are working on the AI behaviour in race. I still see the AI taking always the same racing line and not making any racing mistakes... maybe I can only wish this for F1 2016... anyway would be nice to see this also coming for 2015.

@rotherfield thank you for that, you've got a nice setup there. We have a PC with the same graphics card as you, I am working to the theory that's the culprit at the moment if lowering the particles setting is the work around. We'll do some investigation.

I fixed my problem, I had mods so I did the verify integrity of game cache and it worked again, however I've only done one race so I'm not sure it was a coincidence or not.

Please Lozzy  or jennyannem, read my problem at the second page, and please answer. I really want to know, that is there any chance to get this functoin. Because I'm really close to delete the game. After 4 month there is no change. It's still unenjoyable with my periferials.

Do you have any mods? try "verify integrity of game cache".

After this patch the VRAM usage is up by another 300megs, why? I have actually lowered my settings to HIGH across the board and removed Motion Blur yet my usage goes up, why?

There is no way that a game with this amount and level of detail should be pulling 3.5 gig.

Oh wait, UPDATE: Found one thing that's not  helping, when setting up the advanced Graphics settings, it warn's that theses changes may not take effect until you restart the game. When I exit the game and restart again, the settings are all set back to default which is ULTRA HIGH. I don't want Ultra High settings, because that means I have to have motion blur (Now appears to be set in game) and I am optimized  for things I don't have or want, such as HT. So, what does this mean? Either

1) If I can't change my settings without exiting & and restarting the game, then It's no good making the changes before each session (not an option I would like anyway)

2) I can't change my settings by exiting & restarting the game, because that resets the defaults i am trying to change.

@Lozzy, PLEASE tell me i'm doing something wrong and this is not a new bug??????

Edit: On further testing, it looks like I have to restart the game to get my advanced graphics settings to take effect, just changing the settings and starting a session without restarting the game makes no difference at all. I have tried setting everything to the lowest settings to see if there is any difference. There is no difference visually and as monitored on GPU-Z.

This mean's my game is now stuck on the highest settings (default) and I have no graphics adjustment in game whatsoever.

Guys, thats not funny, that with a controller the game is still unplayable...
I'm going to check with the handling guys but I disagree that the game is unplayable. I play every day with an Xbox 360 controller on PC.

Is this the issue with particles being on High or Ultra High? Have you tried turning them down to Medium to see if that will work? Let me know.

aaron685 you're on the wrong thread and no there is no information yet.

@hobbsy777 you're doing something wrong ;). Make sure that C:\Users\your.name\Documents\My Games\F1 2015\hardwaresettings exists and is not read only. You should have two text files in there.

Heck, that's not an old VCR -- Sony only announced this week that they're going to stop making Betamax tapes soon

At some track it's not that bad. It's frustrating the most in hairpins at Canada, Monaco, China, Malaysia and in Spain at turn 3. In the hairpins I have to slow to 30-40 km/h to turn, in Spain the car don't move on the right line. This automatic turning limiter don't allow me to use the full steering degree. And not just with a gamepad but with a steering wheel. (Yes I know that the Sidewinder is old, but there wasn't any problem with it.)
In the previous games there was an option to override the controller type. Now there is no option for this.
And yes, it's not unplayable but irritating. I wrote a message after the release day because of this, but I didn't get answer. Then after the last patch before this. Nothing.
I bought a game for full price at the release day which I don't enjoy to play. I have to wait 4 month to play MP without any problem.
Any other game can easily work with my controller/wheel just F1 2015 not. I'm really disappointed. It was the first F1 game what I bought on release day. But I think the last.

Thanks, will check that out.

Edit: By the way @Lozzy, what's with the 12 second black screen on exiting the game to desktop?

@Lozzy  Game crash many times in multiplayer session. We are various players in the room and at some point the game crashes at all (or most)
let's forget for the moment
the bug of  box, the bug of tires in qualifying that remained the same as before, the bug of incorrect times in qualifying

but
at least solve the problem of the crash, so users can return to play. At the moment it is impossible to make a session of more than 5 laps without at least 2 or 3 players crash

Update: My Hardwaresettings .xml was read only. However, setting down one to "High" does not help VRAM usage. This question has been left unanswered from previous posts, Why is this game so heavy on GPUs?

That's that problem solved then.

I'm not understanding why you're so worried about VRAM usage, if it's more than your card can handle and makes things slow then turn some settings down. I would image that we've got a lot of high res textures in there but without asking I can't be certain.

The long shutdown is terrible, it's something we need to look at for '16 though as there are bigger issues for this game at the moment.

Because when you start approaching the top end of your VRAM you become vulnerable to stutters. Also it means your GPU fans are running pretty high constantly which for one thing, adds to fan noise that is already a challenge with OC'd rigs. I already have a 4G GTX 970 STRIX which should eat this game. I did suspect it is an AA thing, but have since set up a Nvidia Inspector profile to overide application settings that (IMHO), with SFX look's better but only drops the usage by 100megs, but guess what? It got rid of  the long black screen shutdown. ;)
