Dytut 89 Posted December 5, 2017 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxzxoks6ubE&feature=youtu.beFun to start comparing how the Yaris looked a year ago with the 2018 homologation car. Looks much more stable and balanced.
Dytut 89 Posted December 6, 2017 Looks like they've redone quite a bit on the front aero for the 2018 model. The front scoop is smaller, and less "mouth" on the sides. Also the small new bit on the top of the fenders. Looks like it'll generate more downforce in the front but with a bit less cooling for the brakes. Probably less drag aswell. DiRTKiNG808 15 Posted December 15, 2017 I can't wait for next year. The Ford car looks epic! I hope they come in next season.
Dytut 89 Posted December 15, 2017 Ooooh, nice! They used to have a Ford logo, but that was a Ford Ecoboost logo on the back. That logo so prominent, and no MS-RT logo (only the sign) is a clear hint of either full on Ford or a significantly bigger backing from Ford.Cool to see all the '18 spec cars and check for differences. Both Toyota and Hyundai seem to have changed their front aero a bit (I'd wager for weight distribution since both took away stuff), while I can't spot that many differences on the Ford or the Citroën. The Ford seemed pretty spot on last year, so I don't think they've made that many changes to it, and for the Citroën they (hopefully) focused their attention on the wonky suspension. All cars look real fast in testing, think this season will be even tighter than the last :-)

They deserve it. I also think the livery looks better in white compared to last year one, which I wasn't a huge fan of

carpa 303 Posted December 17, 2017 Sooo... Jari-Matti Latvala is competing in Rally Prealpi this weekend with a Toyota Celica ST165. And this is how he arrived at service the first dayGiven the period of the year and the fact he's a Finn it's a proper look :D He also has had the opportunity to test the 2018 Yaris WRC exclusively developed for him by some Italian rally fanshttps://twitter.com/JariMattiWRC/status/942134154862432256?s=

juu1ius 5 Posted December 18, 2017 https://wrcwings.wordpress.com/2017/11/08/toyota-yaris-wrc-first-tests-for-2018/# < great blog that concludes changes in aero. Hyundai Monte test car seems to have same updates that Neuville had in Wales + new mirrors. Toyota is going for more downforce in front. Interesting to see if M-Sport is going with the same package they had last year (meaning, they hit the nail on the head last year) or there's something going on in the Ford Performance windtunnels. Also, what's up with Citroen ?
Dytut 89 Posted December 18, 2017 Nice read there @juu1ius :-)I wonder how it'll go for Citroën next season. They seem to have designed the car with the mindset of a track car, where it's extremely fast as long as circumstances don't change. But as soon as too much changes or gets out of predicted bounds it just gets very unpredictable. I wonder if they'll be able to find a sweet spot or if changing it's behaviour will go against the original design so much that it won't be fast anymore. Dytut 89 Posted December 20, 2017 https://www.autosport.com/wrc/news/133616/loeb-back-to-wrc-with-parttime-citroen-dealSo Loeb back for Mexico, Corsica and Spain. Will be fun to see if he's still got the speed. But a bit disappointing to see them cut back to two cars for 2018 and apparently not aiming for the manufacturers title. Three cars and get Østberg in the car that Al-Qassimi hogs ffs. I know he pays the bills, but he'd be much better off in the R5 since he quite apparently don't have the skill to get anything out of the WRC.

I was hoping he'd take part in the Monte but it was probably too late. Love how he chose the two rallies Citroën won last year plus Tour de Corse where Kris was leading before the failure. He's still a Cannibal and he wants to win!

Yes, it looks like Citroen has already conceded the championship to the other manufacturers and is just aiming for the occasional win. Doesn't make sense to me, but hey, that's only one man's opinion...
Dytut 89 Posted December 20, 2017 Yeah does sound like Citroën has given up on the car. Maybe they're using the saved cash on a hefty redesign for 2019
DiRTKiNG808 15 Posted December 20, 2017 Then in 2019 Citroen will be like, "ya we made some mistakes so we are going to take a step back and redesign and hopefully be ready by 2025."
