F1 2016 - Internal Testing Details

Recommended Posts

Gamertag: RyanL83
Age: 22
Location: Nottingham, United Kingdom
Availability: Free any day
Areas interested in: Developing the online multiplayer, handling and wheel-to-wheel racing of the F1 game.

I would like to nominate myself for this opportunity.

Background

Having played the codemasters F1 series since the first release of F1 2010, I have competed at the highest level in online league racing within ARL. My passion for the F1 games has come with success from creating a YouTube channel dedicated to sharing gameplay of the F1 Codemasters community with the F1 2013 and F1 2014 Overtakes Of The Week Series.  My passion for F1 gaming has resulted in now having over 8500 subscribers for my YouTube channel, with also over 2000 followers on my Twitter account.

Why me?

My love for F1 and the F1 series by Codemasters has been a big part of me since i started in 2010 which
has made me create my own YouTube channel and has grown so much over the years with the success of many series from playing the F1 games. Being a wheel user, I feel that my experience would help improve the handling of the game and also making a community based series around overtakes on multiplayer and helping create a clean experience for all, I feel i am a strong candidate which is required to make a strong foundation for the success of the future F1 games and beyond.

Thank you for your time in reading this - It really would be amazing to be part of this opportunity as a result of my years of experience and my strong passion for the F1 Codemasters series.

All these comments are priceless drivel.  Surely, the most appropriate people would be those who have, for the last 5 years, pointed out the mess of a game that CM regurgitate each year.

It matters not one bit whether those people are 12 or 90 and/or whether they have 1 or 100,000 YouTube viewers. The understanding of the balance between an arcade, buggy mess and a half decent sim are what matters........my vote would not be to vote for any of you.

No,  I have no interest at all myself but there are loads of others on here who actually do know what they are talking about........ what a pity none have volunteered.

I would like to nominate myself.

I am a 14 year old who lives in Western Scotland and has all the Codemasters F1 Games (even 2009 on the Wii) and I would love to help improve the game as I have a few ideas after 2015 had a few things needed.
My availability in January and February is good.

For the past few years I have been doing YouTube and I have 430+ subscribers and I play offline and online, I have been in many F1 racing leagues since F1 2013.

Thanks,

I would love to help you guys with testing in any way I can.
I am currently in my second year of studying a degree in Computer Games Design and Mechanics at Teesside university so I have a good understanding of the mechanics of games and balancing them. I have also worked on a few games in my spare time using various tool kits (Unity, Unreal etc). I think this would help me give you guys useful feedback on the game.
I am also a huge fan of F1 and racing and have been my whole life so have a good knowledge of the sport, as well as having picked up all the Codemasters F1 games so I am familiar with the franchise.
If you would like to see any of my work etc I'd be happy to email you some.

I would also like to nominate AlexZAfro @thatafrolife . He is a good friend of mine and has been for many years. Die hard racing fan and has spent many many hours of his time playing racing games. He is also pretty popular on Youtube which would help get word out about the new game.

Good luck with the game and testing it.

Hi @jennyannem ,

Firstly I'd like to say a big thank you, to you and the team for giving us, the community, more opportunities allowing us to have more input into the development process. I believe this is the first big step to, once again, produce quality F1 games.

I'm from a racing community I'm sure you have heard of before, Apex Online Racing. Committed to provide clean, fair and competitive racing, and one of the main reasons why I choose to buy into the F1 series. All of the names I'm nominating I'm sure you already know, and I don't need to tell you how much they contribute to the community.

I'd like to nominate @aarave , @tiametmarduk , @xMattyG and @TRLlimitless .

I nominate without hesitation :
@TRL_Limitless ;
@xMattyG ;
Alex Gallion
Harry jacks (noble)
Tom97HD
I hope codemasters pick up carefully the testers based on how good they  are in the game and not how popular only they are. As being good in the game can be helpful to develop it into a better level.

Based on how good they are? Why? That's not much of a difference from being popular.

I think they need to balance this. Some popular youtubers, fast drivers, normal drivers, real drivers, etc. Basically mix it up so they won't only get opinions from one category.

I'd choose more than one person.

My choices would be Noble 2909, TRL Limitless, Alex Gillon, xMattyG, Jack 575 & Tiametmarduk, if you can get him to the UK ;)

I'd like to nominate myself for this opportunity. The reason is quite simple.
I'm a passionate fan of F1 for about 17 years, played nearly all of the games released. With F1 2012 I got into League Racing and soon I decided to create my own league in Germany. We were one of the biggest communities, but with the last two games released our leagues got smaller, until we decided to end our league for now and hope for a better game or backwards compatibility with F1 2013 for XboxOne. We discussed a lot about what bothers us the most, about how things could be improved and what is neccescary to be changed in future games to get the community back into business.
We had some quite interesting ideas about online mode, career mode (?!) and other stuff.

With years of league racing experience, not only in Germany, but also in TRL I would love to take part in the development of the new F1 games, so as F1 2016. I would love to represent the german community and bring in our ideas to bring back the feeling of a good Formula 1 game.

I would also like to nominate TSR Unleashed for this opportunity. He is a very clever guy with lots of league racing experience and I think he could have a good impact on that game.

I would like to nominate @aarava , @xMattyG , @TRLlimitless and @Tiametmarduk as from watching their videos I feel they represent the general feeling of those of us who play the games.

I can guarantee that if their comments are taken on board, you will develop a better game.

Lol ive seen all these guys putting themselves forward, but for one minute can everyone stop being selfish and just do the right thing for the game the community and the future of F1 games which is to give it to the people who know F1 games better than anyone else the chance to test this game because they have been at the sharp end of everything to do with F1 codemasters series for a long time and without doubt will find things that others may miss.

TRL_Limitless, Noble2909, XMattyg AOR Fisi in terms of competitive league and online racing career modes have pretty much excelled in all areas. Its not about who the most famous on youtube is or who has the most followers so no disrespect to araava or TeamVVV we need the people that can push the game to the limit who are outstanding on Pad and on wheel to find that balance we all loved on F1 2013 and for me their is only a handful of drivers who understand how important it is to find that balance and for me araava and TeamVVV in terms of ability are not going to find that limit we are all looking for.

I don't know any of these AOR guys but I've spent a lot of time watching the quality of their past and present races, the respect for track limits and other drivers on track as I'm sure most people here have. For me its a no brainer it needs to be atleast one elite pad player and one elite wheel player TRL_Limitless, xMattyg for PAD Noble2909 AOR fisi for WHEEL that's my vote because I really do want the best for future F1 games.

I would like to nominate myself, Lachlan Fitchett for this. I'm 16 and from Australia (This won't be an issue, I will be able to get myself to the UK), and I am available all of January. I'm a HUGE fan of F1 and your games, I have played all F1 games since 2010 on both pad and wheel, in recent years i've only been playing on a wheel (Thrustmaster TX with Ferrari F1 add on). This game has become a big part of my life and I just want to help make the best game possible. I'm very passionate about this game and I think I have a few ideas.

In June this year i decided to start up my own Youtube channel around your games, 1 of the best decisions i've ever made, I now have over 200 subscribers and am growing quickly. I'm very interested in helping you with the creation of this game as I, like many others, will be playing this game a lot and want to have the best possible experience. I am very interested in testing all elements of the game, single player (career mode etc.), online (CO-OP, quick races etc), handling and AI. I would especially like to test out career mode and CO-OP as my main to series are on there. I also have a lot of experience with racing games and real life competitive racing so i think i could be a big help on the handling and AI side.

I would be honoured if you selected me for this and would love to come to England to help you guys make the best possible game. Thanks, Lachlan Fitchett

This is also one of the few times I will be available during the year.

I'd like to nominate myself, I own every PC F1 game ever released and have over 600 racing games currently installed on my PC! I've been playing racing games since 1985, on Amstrad CPC, Sega Megadrive/CD/32X, Dreamcast, PS2 and PC, so I have a lot of knowledge of racing games history. I'm 39.

I've got a G27 wheel and previously used a MOMO Force and Microsoft Force Feedback wheel. I own every Codemasters racing game from the F1, McRae/DiRT and ToCA/GRID series. I'm also in the gossip credits for DiRT Rally, as I hang around the Codemasters forums on a daily basis! I've followed F1 fanatically since around 1989.

I am more of a casual racing game player these days (owing to a 6 month old daughter!), so I focus on single player, and comparing games, therefore my input could be a bit different to the daily YouTubers mentioned already. I've rarely ever played multiplayer (a little bit of SimRaceWay was all), however I did once win a RaceCentre event against a room full of people (on rFactor).

I'm currently working on a screenshot comparison of every F1 game on PC in my free time, which I'll publish on this forum when it's finished. At work I bug test websites (amongst many others tasks) and have spent a long time getting old games to work on newer operating systems (including Codemasters past titles, you can find my help around the forum), so I sort of sadistically enjoy tasks of that nature!

I'd be interested in seeing how these games are made, understand the limitations imposed by FOM/FIA, and just see Codemasters behind the scenes, as it seems an interesting place to work. I'm interested in helping to make F1 2016 a stand out, authentic product, that can be enjoyed in single player mode as much as multiplayer.

Availability-wise, I'll need to know about 2 months ahead, so I can ensure my work schedule is free enough to book time off.

So, this used to be a double post. Your forum needs more testing :-D

I would like to nominate a small time YouTuber who I love to watch: xFitcho. He is a very good driver. I believe he deserves to test the game because he is insightful when it comes to Formula 1, and his channel is growing. I know he would be happy to help because he understands what needs to be fixed in future F1 games to make them much more enjoyable!

Lets think about this, are you voting for a one game fanboy, or somone who can drive play all racing games, and be fast plus pic out the weak points strong points, and plain stupid points?

I'd go with Factory Pilot. It's just a pity Concorde is no more as he would have been deserving of such travel. If I remember right he kills wheels too so good product testing background :)

Also, RyanL and noble who I've raced (not so much "raced" with noble, more followed, far behind...a bit closer to RyanL), xmattyg as I think he was one of the best on pad and has some of the best ranting on YouTube (like a team meeting thread in here condensed) and tiametmarduk who has always helped out with his setup vids and general banterisms.

Me, my day job revolves around SDLC, AGILE, ServiceNow, Clearquest and all that good stuff (by good I mean boring...) to do with development and testing. I suppose that's not the kind of thing you need for what you are doing at this point, but down the line if you need people to actually test anything in a meaningful way (for nada! Lol) and be able to easily work in any of the various defect logging systems I'd be up for that.

Best of Luck with this

I think @aarava or @Tiametmarduk or even @xMattyG  would be a perfect fit for it. They are well known F1 Game Series youtubers and I'm sure a lot of us (including myself) trust them in what needs to be changed for F1 2016.
