V8 Supercars 2 will not run with my XP Vista

I installed my V8 SuperCars and when I wanted to play it came up with the following  "This application can be launched with a release version of Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME/NT 4.0/XP/Server 2003.  I am running XP Vista Home Premium with SP2.

You could try using compatibility mode with an earlier version of Windows

Have a old game of V8 SuperCars 2 Australia and am trying to install onto windows 10. All goes well when installing but I cannot add the Disc Key when I try to run the program first time. I am asked to reboot to save changes but no go on getting the game to run. frustrating - please help
