DiRTy Forumers League

Recommended Posts

Nobody will lose interest, everyone's waiting for a fix and hopes for it to come this week. IMHO it will be really small thing that could be already fixed but it doesn't work that way ;)

Yeah I haven't lost interest. I'm just kinda waiting. People who lose interest this quickly must live very boring lives.

I haven't lost interest either. It's just been a very busy 2 weeks for me, and I'm also waiting for a small fix regarding the car service issues.

So...

I reccomend we do a short league with cars that don't rely so heavily on setups before the fixes come in, or else people will lose interest.
Wanted to say that you're most likely alone in that statement but others beat me to it :p

Still waiting for 8 (well, 7, since I would be in) people for the RX tournament. That can work perfectly as a waiting thing for the league fix.

Then again, the vegetaton is 2D, so how the heck is it so demanding? o.O
2D can be surprisingly demanding, in that a lot of GPUs are absolutely woeful in handling it.

Hell, the Sega Saturn handled 2D graphics better than the Dreamcast, PS2 or Xbox. Because that's what it was built to do.
3D was kind of tacked on late in development which was why the Playstation was always a superior 3D machine and that was the direction gaming rapidly went in.
But the Saturn managed exception versions of classic 2D fighters like Street Fighter Alpha 3, Darkstalkers 3, King of Fighters and Marvel vs Capcom, especially with the RAM carts, that weren't rivaled until comparatively exceptionally powerful consoles like the Xbox 360 which could brute force their way to arcade-perfect HD remakes.

As much as I would like to start this, I'm not alone in the thought of running cars with their default setups being a rather... crappy experience.

Hi everyone, I'm back! I've been out for a while and back a week ago, I think I missed the last couple of events and I wasn't able to enter the forum for almost a month. I'm waiting for the service bug to be fixed as well.
I saw I went down to 8th, happy to see I didn't go further than that.
Nice to see this league and thread are still alive, I enjoy them a lot!

I was very busy at work. Now I´m starting to find some time bits. I´ll try to be back on forums and racing this league, of course.

Mr. Krabs, I have an idea!

What if, while we wait for the league fix, we run a one-model championship, WRC-Academy like? Everyone drives the same car, a car which has a generally favorable default setup for everyone. It would put everyone on equal terms and at least give us some league time in the mean... time.

I'm in for that, but the question is if everyone would be happy with this solution AND which car has a favourable default setup for everyone? The only car so far that has a doable default setup for me is the i20, though I would have to personally remind myself of the default setups on other cars.

ryu, as you see like ozore not anyone have time to be always on the road or in the forum.   why not  soften these rules a bit? ;)    i would be in

a good car with standard setup is the fiesta imo

The Fiesta would be my choice, default setup on it works quite well.
Delta Integrale also has decent defaults.
BMW M3 works.
Arguably Audi Quattro Sport aswell.

I'm in. I think some cars have decent default setups: Opel Kadett, Fiat 131, Opel Manta, Delta Integrale, both F2 cars, Ford Focus 2001 and 2007, R4 Mitsubishi, Hyundai and Fiesta. But as Porkhammer said, we already did 2010s.

2010s should be out of question, we did them last time with default setups, so best to leave them alone. I'm in for the R4 class or 2000s though, those cars are likeable on their default setups already (aside from C4 naturally :p ), especially the Focus '01 and Evo X.

So far those cars have been mentioned multiple times:
- Delta Integrale
- Focus '01
- Evo X
