Pure balls. Lame story to defend gravity & downforce hack users times :)
How is pointing out a bug that makes you SLOWER seen as defending those that are using 3rd party tools to be faster? Take your accusations away from here, please.

Finished!

Doing the Monte with RWD cars is probably my weak link, but I'm pretty happy with my performance overall. I was very clean and tidy, with the only damage being general wear and tear of tires, etc., so I'm pleased considering my lack of confidence going into the rally.

I was never going to be as competitive as some of the front runners, but I still had a lot of fun in this car. First competitive event with the Kadett for me, and I was comfortable with my car setup which was a bonus.

Hmpf.

I was doing rather awfully judging by the times due to a puncutre on stage 2. I was enjoying myself at least, with the Sierra doing as I expected. I was going not as fast as I could, but as fast as I dared, so of course my times were nothing short of bad (except for an 8 second defecit on stage 3). On the first night stage... my car got beached on a small as asscrackers snowbank, and it chose not to topple onto the road, but onto the other side. Something easily recoverable that the game decided was not. Oh well,

I was going at a snails pace on the icy snowy sections, so I can only gleam with joy and anticipation awaiting Sweden.

I knew i should've taken the M3 myself, everyone's in flippin 70s cars! O_o
That's surprising!!  I'll maybe wheel out the M3 later, see how it fairs on the mountain!

Don't think I'll be able to complete the event, got a HEMA competition this weekend. But my trial run of the Stratos last night showed me just how hard that sucker is to control (expecially with default setup in the first stage, had 3 spins at least), so I'd probably end up last anyways :-)

Keep in mind that here you're driving on winter tarmac tires on the snow. In Sweden you'll be on studded snow tires, so the car won't be as tail happy as it is here and will actually have some traction... at least in theory. We'll still be making Cossie look more like a snow diver xD

After realising I wouldn't beat CrazyNevada after stage 2 I decided to put on a show for the virtual speccies and do some big drifts round the hairpins, apart from Stage 5 which I took seriously lol

When the Kadett is on 'roids, you may as well entertain the crowd with some awesome driving ability!!   :D

My Monte M3 run ended up slightly sidetracked with having loads of fun!

I wish I could drift. When the back starts going I just stop accelerating and let the car get straight again. Basically, I wish I could drift without losing my sh*t.

That was maybe the most stupid retirement I ever had. SS1, at the start of the snowy part I slid a little bit wide in the double left 4. Instead of just touching the snowbank, as I have done a lot of times, my M3 just glided over it into nirvana. I couldn't believe it, really.

"Spin me right round" Sweden woo! My KB really dislikes snowbanks in Sweden now...

Mine went pretty-much the same Snaky, consisted of spins, rolls, getting stuck on banks, wrong turns at junctions etc, but managed a good pace between all the crap!  Easily beatable though, if anyone wants to drive through at 90% pace without incident :)

Did exactly that and had only one spin and one roll. Currently leading :)

Three spins and some moments, but I enjoyed the snow this time. Rear wheel drive cars make the snow and ice a lot more lovable.

Lots and lots of spins for me. But what really bothers me is the "Whoops, parser error" message when I try to enter the forum via my computer, I've erased my cache and no use. I'm writing through my phone now, and it sucks

I retired from the event halfway, not because I was angry, but because I wanted to. Either the slowbug was strong with me or I was really really a LOT slower than I expected, but for just having two spins, one roll and two resets on the first stage, 1:30 defecit to CrazyNevada seemed a bit extreme. The cossie was really nice in the snow, and I actually had fun just joyriding through the stages. I retired because I was at least 1:20 behind Evilsmurf or whoever was last, so there was no point to continuing.

Two spins equal to about 10-18s lost depending on the severity (can be more). Two resets equal about 35s lost. Remember, it's not about the penalty only, the speed you lost and the whole process of getting to be reset counts as well. Roll can result from as low as 2s, to as much as 30s+. Highly depends on the roll... or rather the amount of rolls within one roll ;) Then add the difference in skill that usually occurs and... sums up about perfectly to 1:30 on just one stage.

If you could finish, you should have. There's no point in retiring. It's better to finish even if you will be last. Remember, it's about the journey, not destination aka result ;)

Retiring is the choice of any competitor.  I do it sometimes for similar reasons.  Half the fun of competing in some events is not the overall time, but the lol-ness of winning the odd slippy stage!  I love the amusement of that....  :)

Try visiting the homepage and go to "Manage account". You don't need to change anything, just click the green button. Works for me, when I get that error - usually after I deleted my temporary internet files and stuff.

Well, that was a pretty poor run from me. I went into the event with low confidence, just like with Monte, which ended up being not so bad. Sweden however was a slow disaster. Finished in 7th with many spins due to being over-cautious.

I'm still not 100% familiar with the Swedish stages, and driving RWD on them made it all the more difficult.
I'll have to practice it more so I can go a bit faster, because I'm spinning out due to not pushing hard enough, but I'm still not certain where the limit is.
