Graphics reset to default?

Recommended Posts

DiRT Rally, i was running my 3 monitor set-up successfully, beautifully

then i painted mice elf into a corner

i went into graphics settings, looking for a way to fine tune field of view, and i shoulda left it alone.
being the novice that i am, i cannot remember exactly what parameter i changed,
and now, the entire field of view is squished in the horizontal so much, that the menus are totally unreadable
and i can't even see what the options are to try to find my way back.

i tried uninstalling DiRT Rally from my PC, then re-installed from my steam page, and it remembered my screwed up graphics settings.

this is only an issue inside DiRT, ... triple monitor set-up works normally with other games.

How can i reset my graphics to the default settings? (bear in mind, the menus are visually almost useless, so it's hard for me to find my way around them)

msi z97 w/i7, geforce 970

big thanks to anyone who can get me out of this :)

Quick way is to delete the hardware folder in My Documents\My Games\Dirt Rally. you will have to reset everything, audio, controller and graphics.

ok ... without reassurance, ...
i tried deleting just the contents, restart PC, restart DR, still squooshed
so, i deleted the folder, restart PC, restart DR, still squooshed
so, i deleted the folder, restart PC, uninstalled DR, restart PC, re-installed DR from my steam page, ...
... and that worked!

thanky a lot, superdooper!

bokimoto, good to see you got it fixed.

For future reference it sounds like you changed the Aspect Ratio in the Graphics / Video Mode page.
With triple screens Aspect Ratio should be set to Auto.
Any other ratio setting will give you the squashed look.
