(F1 2015) Just got this game

Recommended Posts

And my overall impression is...meh
I got it free with a laptop my relative was buying so I decided to claim it

First things I noticed
- Device not supported message when using a 360 controller even though the Steam page says full controller support
- Noticeable lack of force feedback. Can run over a curb (sp?) and the controller doesn't rumble at all
- Graphics are okay I guess. It doesn't look all that different to the predecessors. Project Cars is far better looking
- No clear fuel indicator. Instead of just a graphic why haven't they put a numerical value to tell me how much fuel there is? Project Cars and F1 06 both did this
- Car feels really easy to drive. It could be assists. It could be it's the Mercedes, but I feel no connection to what the car is doing. Project Cars and Assetto Corsa manage this really well
- Frame rate is unreliable. Clock in 90 fps for multiple laps and then somewhere round the track it just tanks to 30 something so it's more slideshow than game

Basically, not much has changed so I'm not sure what to think of this overall. I didn't expect good things and had no real intentions of ever playing it, but got it since it was free

I bought it last Friday for £20 from the PSN store a week ago and I'm loving it. I've already put in over 25 hours into it and found it to be very good.

The controls for the Dual Shock 4 are the best yet (and I've played every CM F1 games), the driving is so addictive. It's not perfect, but which games are these days.

Oh, the graphics are far better than anything they released last gen.

Keep up the good work CM.

Finally someone who is actually complimenting the game

I don't find it that bad actually, but Codemasters track record with F1 games didn't do it any favours. Just so far it isn't anything overly special

I'm comparing with racing games on the PC (Project Cars) which IMO looks a lot better than F1 2015. Will have to play both again to make sure. I am talking about the PC version in this thread

I know but I thought I'd point out that not all versions are bad.
I'm going to play more of it, see if opinion changes. According to Steam reviews, game is bad

EDIT: Now I've played it some more it does look better than the previous entries. No game breaking bugs so far. I just need to get quicker and stay out off turn 1 incidents (used to be able to but I'm out of practice now)

I suppose you're on PC then, right?
- Device not supported - a problem which still remains with my Afterglow AX.1. Still have to connect it after the game goes to main menu;
- Force feedback - have to agree, could be slightly more;
- Graphics - slightly improved, but I expect them to be better with 2016;
- Fuel - you can always check the flyout to see the approximate amount of fuel left in tank;
- Driving - I sometimes struggle on my gamepad with driving, so I enjoy it. Might be because I'm using no traction and no brake assist (only ABS, because I find it sometimes hard to brake correctly);
- Framerate - agreed, there are problems, but I enjoy driving on Low-Medium settings on a stable 25-40 FPS (it's pretty much okay for driving).

It was not that bad move to the next gen, but could be better. I still enjoy playing it occasionally.

Add Monaco frame rate to that. Barely getting 30 maxed out. Everywhere else so far is 70+

Also, where do I turn off equal cars

Bought it also on the PSN sales last week. I have mixed opinions about the game. The game feels polished in some areas but totally flawed in others.

I like the racing and stuff. Qualifying is much better than in previous versions. In previous versions qualifying times were far of in respect of the difficulty compared to racing. In this version you can qualify and race on the same difficulty setting.

The presentation is nice, the commentary is well done but that's it

Then there is this huge list with flaws

And the biggest flaw is having no career. I really don't understand this racing game. Why would you have a racing game where there is one team the best team and there is no way to get another team as good or better?
You have to choose Lewis or Nico or else you are screwed for the entire season.

I finished my entire season and now the game is finished. I tried to restart a season as Max Verstappen but after once race I gave up. Why pick a Torro Rosso when you can pick the fastest car on the track? Bring back upgrades.

No weather forecast for the weekend? What a fuck up!

What's with the pitstops at 50% There are more pitstops in a 50% race than a in full race in real life? The guy in charge of the pitstops is not working at Codemasters anymore I hope?

I haven't been online yet but I don't think I will enjoy it a bit.

Conclusion: F1 2015 feels like a demo for things to come. As a demo I would be impressed. As I game it's pure bullshit, this should noit have been released as a game.

Race doesn't finish online and I've lost sound. All the drivers crossed the line ages ago and now they're just circulating. Been stuck spectating for ages
