The final release is a disappointment

Recommended Posts

First of All, Congrats to your job!
Please do not hate me! :) Sorry Codemasters to have to say that i am not happy with your released product.

Don't you read what people wish? People don't want your Codie-style Replay system which is  the worst part of this amazing game! Hundred polls, wishes about to leave your system, drop it to the trash, because it is bad, annoying,  useless. We want a chance to watch back the car all long of stage by TV cams only. We wish to select cameras and we don't want auto-rotate cameras, wheel cams, wings cams whatever you call them. We want to be able to save them to disk, to watch them again later, or wish to share them with our friends.

What about to save custom controller presets?
What about using (trade/share) custom liveries?
What about DS3 WRC?
What about R1,R2,R3,R5 category? Do you have a plan to release several car packs DLCs to get them all?

I am not happy with the result, but i like this rally game so far. The best of all.
Please do not forget developments in the future updates.

Thank you for reading  my opininon.

Custom liveries aren't an option as lots of manufacturers only want certain liveries on their vehicles, so it creates licensing issues

They unfortunately couldn't secure DS3 due to licensing

Theres a pretty healthy list of cars in game anyway, although I would like to see them too, they aren't totally necessary

The game has literally just been released, I'm sure you will find out soon

I am agree for saving replay to disk.

I don't like watching replay between stages.
It breaks the rhythm.

i think you thinking more about what isnt in the game than what is ;)

overall the game is the best rally game available , yes that includes richard burns rally. which while harder wasnt realistic.

some of the things you suggest would be great to be added but we must always remember times deadlines money and size of your team when making games.

i think with the resources at hand the dirt team have pulled of a great game and a miracle.especially when you look at the changes from recent rally games from codemasters. a totally different approach.

The replay system is limited by the engine they use. Same thing with the steering animation.

They have learned a great deal what people want, and I promise they know about the lacking replay system. Hopefully they will get a green light developing a sequel in the future with a newer engine that supports those things that wasn't possible with this older modified one :)

At least steering wheel rotation (without hands on ) has already changed to the same amount as you see on your steering wheel :)

I agree with you, this game had to be released so they release it, but some basic features like replay it's totally useless like this.

I don't think so. Manufacturers already has got their certain liveries. More fan-made liveries should welcome without commercial fees, couldn't be a problem. Which manufacturer told to any RBR modders to stop their job? None of them! More than two thousand custom liveries already out there by talent modders for RBR, without any trouble.

You forget something: custom liveries are already out and sometimes you have to overwrite certain official liveries to use them (ex. Audi Quattro which has only one skin), this is worst  than people should use another additional folder to collect them

Look at, Steam Workshop would be a right place to share custom liveries. You could always check the author. Manufacturers / CM should ask the author to remove that given product from the list.

You are talking about mods, which are not officially supported. If it was supported, it would be a completely different thing. The reason why certain cars like the Audi and polo only have one livery are because the manufacturers wouldn't let codemasters put any other liveries on them. So if they won't let codemasters do it, then they definitely wouldn't let anybody else do it

Sure it's kinda sad we didn't get more features or more cars but I'm really disappointed at the lack of tracks and countries. I really envy people that just got the game and get to drive without knowing the tracks.

Mesa, since the beginning we have been told that this game have less resources (budget included) than any previous DiRT game (at least DiRT 3, I understand).

To awnser the questions:

What about using (trade/share) custom liveries? Like @RallyDriven said earlier some manufacturers doesn't allow to have certain liveries on their cars (for example Citroen didn't allow the official livery for the C4, etc...). If we could have the steam workshop for sharing liveries? Yes we could, but then CM wouldn't allow to share in certain cars and the community would be angry "why we can't share a livery in Citroen C4?" and I'm sure that nobody at DiRT team have time to be a police to remove liveries from cars that aren't allowed.

What about DS3 WRC? Someone asked Paul If the team left the WRC in 2016 we could get the car. The answer was no. I think it's not because the WRC license but because a certain thing that is one word and four letters. I won't say more, I think that is obvious why we don't get the DS3.

What about R1,R2,R3,R5 category? Do you have a plan to release several car packs DLCs to get them all? If we get a DLC, we will probably have the R5s. If I'm not mistaken they prefered to go with the 2010s instead of R5s.

I agree with this. This is the dark side of having the title portioned out for us that we've had in Early Access. But that is something you just have to accept :)

There are quite a lot of locations if you think about it. There are 12 long stages across 6 countries, which are then obviously divided up to make others. Then the whole of pikes peak, twice if you count gravel version. Plus three rallycross tracks. That's a fair amount of mileage

Well you're are technically right but basically we have 2 long stages per country that got cut up and reversed to fill up the track list. I don't know about you guys but I like some variation from time to time.

It is the first rally sim that has taken pride of place as my number one sim since I got into this over 25 years ago. Sure RBR was good but GPL was still my primary sim racing product.

GPL had one era of cars and 11 tracks. If volume of cars and locations is the measure of success then I would have bought an Xbox and raced Forza for all those years.

If DiRT Rally is limited it is that Wales stands head & shoulders above the rest of the locations for me. Is DiRT Rally worth it to drive iconic cars from the last fifty or so years around the Wales stages. Hell yeh!

Personally I would prefer to see stages from RAC Rallies of the past like the grueling long Yorkshire forest stages and focus the entire product on loose surfaces. It fits the title perfectly!

Quality over quantity, however dirt stages are fairly long and they are brilliant quality
There's no denying that, specially compared to wrc 5. I just feel that they should've skipped hill climb and put in at least one more rally country.

Even in a 760p and a DFGT is the best game ever made IMO, really immersive, fun, addictive and if you play with friends is even better, really good thanks to all the devs @KickUp  @Hatward @MrJamieLowes and all of you, codies dont listen to this people who just criticise everything, your game is the best.

All I know is, I can be sweating like Ogier or Latvala after a couple of full-on attacking stages when playing this game.  If that's not a sign of proper immersion, I don't know what is.

I didn't own a PC until this game was released and it was money well spent!

Yes, you know, i know it's true.. Rally fans all knows.
People with 15 LOLs and another after 5 post may don't know how hard was to keep the hope alive from the begining that once CM will give us a replay system.

Not depends on low budgets to switch some flags to zero to hide in-car animations, if users don't wanna see blocky puppets.

Why you want that much a better replay system, drive, dont stay watching your run in a replay and if you want to upload it to youtube just record directly from the gameplay.

Ideally I would like to be able to save replays and watch them from external tv cameras only
