On a secondary side note, I wouldn't be against the Mods deleting half of the new topics since they're all the same damn thing.
Absolutely.

Hey, I just made Race Engineer status :D
Meanwhile I'm still a codriver. It's funny to me that they have this ranking mechanic thing, like it matters.

And I just found a fourth wheel to turn my three wheels into a car! Take that, Emmet!

Isn't one of the other languages a female codriver? French or italian or somesuch?
French. But if you look to your right (or left depending on car) you will still see a bloke. Confusing?

Caitlyn Jenner pops to mind.

So I decided to try out the Escort since I suck with RWD, I managed to stall the car in midair. :| With the Clutch pressed. :| I think I give up. :s

Don't worry, I managed to go backwards in first gear once (in the real world).

What degrees of rotation are you using on that G920?
I'm trying 270, as that's quite a common suggestion. However, I'm open to other people's configs to try out. I'm gonna have about a week to test slightly different settings.
I still remain on my 900. However I managed to get a fancy new monitor and mounted that handbrake I got all those months ago. Mmmm new...ness?
I found the full 900 a bit too much for me straight away, as it felt like I was rallying with a lorry :D
I would suggest trying 540°, that's what the modern rally cars use, also it's you can still somewhat comfortably turn lock to lock without letting go of the wheel. It's the middleground of  being able to turn fast enough in the corners and making fine adjustments in the straights. 270° imho is a bit too close to 200°, not much of an improvement. Rather than taking many small steps, take fewer larger steps instead.
Is it just me or does not soft lock work?
I have it ON but i can turn my wheel 1080 on the cars i've driven so far (mini, alpine, ford, opel gt, peugeot 205 hill climb and polo) or is there another setting i need?
I don't want to calibrate my wheel and put it to just 540.

You have properly calibrated for 1080 degrees? From the cars you listed at least Polo should be 540 degrees. Soft Lock has it's own strength in FFB sliders too, make sure its not turned down.

That's what I was wondering! It makes me not want to watch replays. Also, I use a fov of like .3 or something, and a lot of the dash cams are clipping through the windshield.
Actually, that looks either like a foot, or a mouth....

Yeah, its a bit disturbing, in a funny way.    This was a SS from my triple monitor setup, so its pretty much the norm with the older cars.  If I find the time, I may go trough them and mod it so all the cameras are fixed for the offending cars.

Well if you do, toss it my way, because I'm getting creeped out looking at whatever the hell that is.

I don't want to bitch in Bears happy place, but I decided to start up PCars since it runs better and looks better than AC, and has more content... anyways, decided to try and deal with the FFB settings. In case any of you didn't know, the only person that seems to have any idea what any of the settings do is some guy named Jack Spades. So, since SMS can't seem to understand their own system they asked Jack to give out his FFB files, which he did. And they're okay. So why doesn't SMS just ship the game with his files, since it's supposed to be the same regardless of wheel? Excellent question. Mister Ian Bell gives the answer.
That may be hard to see, so here's a transcription.
"Some guy named Brownie?
I'm new to Pcars and so far really enjoy it but I have to agree the FFB is far from complete. In one of Pcars' competitor games I rely heavily on the feel of the wheel to understand what the car is doing. As above then I expect that accelerating will make the wheel lighter than when breaking/decelerating. I would also expect that when losing front grip in a turn due to understeer the wheel also becomes lighter and then "bites" again once you correct and grip is returned. For now I only rely on visual cues as these are missing from the FFB. With SO many options I expect it is possible to simulate this but I have no idea how to. The settings from Jack come a little close with "66%" one but not really there."

To which Ian responds
"Ian
Nothing is missing from the FFB.
The defaults might not be to your liking is all. We're the first game to ship with pretty much no canned effects, everything being fed directly from the physics."
Oh, so, 100% of everything is a perfect preset? Yeah okay, I'm wrong. I guess the defaults being to no ones liking on any wheel just makes it our problem then. :|
Very helpful.

You can tell people are actively trying to not piss him off and get banned.

Yet again, thank you CM. Your forums is <3.
Even though your FFB on my wheel is still a bit weird, especially since it feels fine with Dirt 3.... But whatever.

Quite a few Finnish simulator enthusiasts got banned during beta stage for criticizing their physics. Even though CM hasn't been as active on forums as SMS, they at least are professional <3

I don't like to skip games because of personal developer issues, but SMS is up there next to Konami. I personally don't have any major issues with PCars, I use it occasionally as a break for when I want to just cruise. I think when PCars 2 comes out I'll wait for a full review.  Going through the forums is just so many ignored bugs and broken promises, and entire threads of discussions by people who've been banned for bringing up legitimate points. Makes me sad. AC forums are also getting that way, this one is definitely the friendliest, which is why I waste so much time here. I don't need real friends right? I feel like CM has been fairly well involved and listen, and act based on what the community actually wants. AC just put out a poll asking what features people want them to work on that "probably" won't actually happen, They actually said that. And they're all features that should already be in the game. :| And that's why yellow makes me sad.

We need this topic a little bit higher...a place where we can escape and hide.

I'm not able to read all these topics that were talked about like hundred times....well it's not even about that but the way people do that.

P.S. I hope Bears like snails...with jet-packs.

It amazes me how many people would rather create an entire new thread instead of just looking the entire page of thread titles and seeing how many are about the same problems.

Yes, I notice I skip by tons of threads in the forum the last few days.

It's the SAME stuff we've ALREADY COVERED.

Don't worry, most of them are just pointless console threads, that are being posted repeatedly.
