Oh, yeah, R3E's pretty good. I just forget about it. I wish they'd fix their payment model. If they just came out and said hey, 50-60% of everything we have you can buy for $60 everyone would buy it. The way it is now is dumb.
Haven't tried AMS, and until there's more than a demo, I'm not buying it. DR was fine for me, because it's CM and I knew I'd at least get a full game.
I really don't understand why everyone likes AC's FFB so much, it's really not that great, and I use the LUT generator and the FFB clip. I think it's like $20 or so, but BeamNG is actually surprisingly good, if you like to drive around empty maps.... There were some rally maps, but they might not work with the latest update, but it actually felt REALLY good, and they introduced a LUT generator tool thing where you just drop in the .csv file from wheel checker and it does it on it's own. Beam actually has real tire/steering rack data going directly to the steering wheel, it's pretty fantastic, and it feels completely natural.

Speaking of Mountain Dew, do you European guys get those ********* obnoxious Kickstart or whatever commercials with a bunch of animals and other BS twerking to a god awful song? Yeah, no thanks, I'm never buying your product. I feel a slight bitching coming on.
Who watches these commercials and decides it's a good idea to put them out? I don't want to watch that, and it actively makes me avoid your products. A few years ago Philips did a promo commercial by showing me 1 of 2 D heads shave their nuts and say they'd F themselves. NO! I will not buy your product! Every video on YouTube I watched was that (1 of 2) commercial for like 6 months. And it was only a 30 second ad so I was basically forced to watch it. I just looked it up, and it's surprising so many people defended that damn commercial. Watching a Dhead shave his nuts is not my thing, and I certainly don't want to watch it for 6 months.

I know different wheel and pedal combos have been touched on already in the past week, but I've been too busy to be actively involved in the discussions. 

I was just wondering what the best option was when looking to replace the G920 pedals for PC. I love the wheel, and in all fairness I love the pedals, but the lack of compatibility with certain games such as F1 makes me frustrated.

DR works great with them, but the issue lies with Windows 10 not actually recognising the pedals as what they should be; brake as clutch, clutch as brake, etc. Makes calibration in some games a nightmare. 

So yeah, I'd just be looking for a set of pedals that would work with the G920 wheel, and a set which would be completely compatible with Windows 10.

What about using a leo bodnar cable?
The only down side is you would have to unmount the wheel to disconnect /reconnect when swapping from PC to Xbox. But it is cheap compared with a new set of pedals.
Actually come to think of it's probably the way the wheel combines the pedals that is the issue and not the pedals themselves. So a new set may well give the same windows 10 silliness, which is another reason to go for a leo bodnar cable

Well you're on PC, can't you run the pedals by themselves? If not, the only other option is Fanatec or TM, of which I don't know about the TM pedals. Try finding some used Fanatecs. Don't think there'll be too many used TM's

So, maybe I'm not exactly sure what a DD wheel is, but it seems like every wheel should be one, it seems like it'd be way easier to make one since it should just be attached directly to the motor right? I don't really understand why mess with all the gears and belts.

A servo motor costs like 600 euro. Belts and Gears are much cheaper to produce etc. But the more Direct Drive Wheels the better for us, because it will hopefully lead to innovation and a drop in prices! 
Pretty sure that's false. As someone who works with precision servo motors, they're less than $100. Actually more like $30.

Yeah, that makes sense.

Still though, 600 Euros for an electric servo motor is ridiculous. The ones I've used are for camera gimbals so they're very accurate, but not quite as strong. It really only requires a bigger motor, which shouldn't increase to much over $100 if that. We have a 1.5 HP electric motor from ... some years ago, and yeah, it's no servo motor, but it was only like $100 and it'll pull like 1/6 scale airplanes. We also have a 3D printer running servo's... of which is then transmitted through a belt.... I don't know, 600 is too high.

That's the thing. Belt. Direct drive doesn't use that, so it has to be a lot more powerful. Believe it or not, but humans have quite a lot of "torque" in their hands. For a FFB to work properly in Direct Drive, it has to be strong enough to make sure it can actually move the wheel while you're holding it. Otherwise it won't work at all.
The increase in performance to price ratio is not always linear. There is a point where it simply becomes too difficult to create something of more power. Which is why you can buy 10 cars for 20k$ and have more BHP and torque than a single car that costs 200k$.

We have a SeeMeCNC something v2 or another. The belts are used linearly, so it's a direct feed.... I think.... there might be a pulley somewhere, but the stepper motor still has to be accurate. I'll take a picture of the ridiculous motor we have, it's kind of nuts. It's probably been outdated and outpowered by smaller ones now.

Weird thing for waste management to put on. I was kind of hoping for rally racing the garbage trucks... I'm on the other side of the country and apparently apart from the RX in Phoenix I don't think there's much rally here, mostly off road Baja type stuff.

So you haven't played it yet then? Let me know how it is, I'm actually kind of interested in it. I think I remember having some old karting game back in the day.... maybe it was on one of the GTR games.... think we had the original... pretty sure it was also a pirated copy we got from my brothers friend. First and last time I used a wheel in a racing game till I bought my own last year. That, combined with Need For Speed 3, and Forza really got me into racing games. Then later Burnout 3.
