Subaru WRX STI R4 2015 in Dirt Rally

Recommended Posts

Cheers,
As you might remember codemasters tweeted a picture of the new 2015 WRX STI's Wing shortly before it was officially announced, together with a screenshot of Dirt3 .
Since then you could assume 'Next dirt game might feature this car' , since they obviously probably had the permission to post its wing before its offical announcment, which required some agreement with subaru, which therefor might indicate a lincence for it. But it hasn't been released yet, meaning that it either will never come or it might only come in a future update/DLC .

We're probably talking about the R4 version of it, since that would fit in a class in game (David Higgins WRX STI would also be cool, but RallyAmerica rules doesn't fit anywhere)

What do you think? Will it be part of an update in the future? And if you don't think so, what could have been the reason for the wing teaser back then, and why would subaru agree on it?

Some inspiration, because it's an awsome looking car:

Cheers

Honestly, to me this is one of the worst looking Impreza ever.
Absolutely boring, Lancer inspired front, rear no identity at all and looking like a lame saloon.

I definitely prefer the latest shape car "out of the box": it took me a long time to like the hatch, glad Subaru have made the latest shape a lot more angular.

I own an Impreza 2.0i, it's the non turbo model.

The new WRX is practically the new Legacy/Liberty GT. The interior space & handling is night & day in comparison to the older generation. When you go & spend money on a new car, even with 5K lower, most will go with the current gen.

Even if you disagree in optical appeal of the car, the question remains: If you think it isn't coming, why the teaser of its wing two years ago and what was subarus agreement on this?

Nobody has any clue / thought / opinion on the teaser-reason??

You remember it don't you? I think it was December 2013 or january 2014 or something around there.
Do I really have to search the net for proof of the Tweet/post?

Things change. It would not be difficult to imagine that this car might have been hoped for the R4 class alongside the Evo X, but it fell through.

You don't have to go digging up tweets, I'm sure plenty believe you and some even remember. That doesn't mean they have anything to contribute to your questions though.

I'm not again of the new on myself, no UEL/boxer sound on the WRX etc, I got used to having a hatch for the convenience, I saw someone do a rendering if they did a new hatch, and I liked it a lot.

That said, if they would use the SRTUSA model with the wide fenders and all, that would be super, but being a mostly European title USA rally is clearly out.
