graphic design and realism

Recommended Posts

The clouds don't move which is very weird and detrimental to realism and spoils the overall experience. Meanwhile it is clear that there have been some efforts put into making the wind cause flags to move, for instance. I have also noticed that the head lamps of some cars are just an image instead of a 3D model. It would be nice to see these points being improved.

I'm sure Ari Vatanen often worried about the movement of clouds when pelting through a narrow forest road.

We must fix this at once!

I didn't talk about any emergency. I thought everyone was welcomed to say what should, or could, be improved. Besides, technically that's no big deal. I do not understand what is constructive in your critique of my post. Are you a Dirt developer?
Best wishes.

The clouds don't move
The plants and the trees don't growing up
The spectators near the road, the animals running across the road have no souls and we can't kill them.

What is next?

It would be nice to get that, but I'd rather have several other things improved before. Not a bad idea if it doesn't compromise performance.

Which cars have the dodgy headlamps? I have not noticed this yet.
Would they be the Rally Cross cars?
Some of them actually do have fake lights in real life.

Yeah, all the Supercars' headlights are fake, they're just painted on to the carbon fibre body.

Don't the clouds in Wales move, IIRC?

One thing that I have noticed is that the moon is really low res and blurry on some of the night stages, looks pretty bad and I was surprised because everything else in the game looks so good.

I know Ive seen this in Greece but maybe its like this in other counties too?

Thanks, that clears that up then.

Those can move even without wind in-game. Ever heard of "script"?

The graphics aren't the greatest, but given that they are working on an old engine at this point, let's cut them a bit of slack for delivering a game that still looks very decent. Not on the level of a 2015 games, but definitely an acceptable level of graphical quality.

Just did a run in Fferm Wynt Revers at Afternoon overcast, and watching the replay you can quite clearly see that the clouds are moving, and they're moving fast

This is true but only for some maps . In the game ( GRID2 ) the clouds are moving on all types of weather

Don't you know that some countries only see blurry moons? Greece and France are prime examples since they drink all day. I thought this was common knowledge.

Or, just maybe, there wasn't any wind up there at the moment. And before you say anything about any flags, wind speed and direction can differ a lot depending on the altitude
